The Youth Orchestra (YO) is DCYOP’s most advanced ensemble. The Youth Orchestra performs repertoire from the standard orchestral literature. Known as the YO, the group is comprised largely of advanced high school students.
The Youth Orchestra rehearses weekly. During the third trimester, students will either participate in outdoor ensemble rehearsals on Saturdays or follow along from home via Zoom, according to their preference marked in the selection form. The ensemble rehearsals will take place between 11am and 6pm (exact time TBA). In addition, there will be optional online masterclasses each Saturday morning between the hours of 9am and 11am, which all YO students are invited to attend.
Please note that new students may not choose the online option. DCYOP cannot accommodate students switching from one option to the other.
Calendar: The third trimester takes place April 17 - June 19 (no rehearsal on May 29). DCYOP is building rain days into the schedule to accommodate extra rehearsals, if needed.
