The Youth Orchestra is DCYOP’s most advanced ensemble. YO performs repertoire from the standard orchestral literature and new works, including premieres. YO appears frequently at venues such as the Kennedy Center, the National Cathedral, and the UDC Theater of the Arts. The ensemble has toured over 20 countries, including Spain and Portugal in summer 2022.
Schedule: Saturdays, 9:00-11:45am, with sectionals scheduled during this time as needed
Fall dates: September 16, September 23, September 30, October 7, October 14, October 21, October 28, November 4, November 18, December 2, and December 9. Concert to be scheduled for the weekend of December 16. No class on November 11 or November 25.
Spring dates: January 20, January 27, February 3, February 10, February 24, March 2, March 9, March 16, March 23, March 30, April 6, April 13, April 27, May 4, May 11, June 1. Concerts to be scheduled for the weekend of May 18 and the weekend of June 8. No class on February 17 or April 20.
