Description

Concertino is an early-intermediate string orchestra. Students begin to develop intermediate string technique and ensemble skills. Rehearsals are split between instrument-specific group lessons and orchestra rehearsals.

 

Schedule: Saturdays, 1:15pm-3:30pm.

  • Instrument-specific sectional classes 1:15pm-2:15pm
  • Orchestra rehearsal 2:30pm-3:30pm

 

 

Optional Enrichment Classes

 

Music Theory 

This is an additional class that will review concepts including note-reading, rhythms, and much more! Music theory will meet after rehearsal/sectionals from 12:00pm-12:45pm. Music Theory tuition is free (available during registration).


Chamber Music 

Small groups (2-8 musicians each) that provide learning and performance opportunities outside of students' primary ensembles. Chamber groups will meet from about 12:00pm-1:00pm every week, so students must be available during that timeframe to join. Consistent attendance is essential for DCYOP's Chamber Music program! Chamber Music tuition is $100 (paid during registration).
