Premiere Winds is an introductory band for winds, brass, and percussion students who have learned basic technique on their instrument. Students learn how to play as an ensemble and continue to focus on basic technique and reading music. Rehearsals are split between instrument-specific group lessons and band rehearsals.
Schedule: Saturdays, 9:00-11:15am. Band rehearsal 9:00-10:00am, instrument-specific sectional classes 10:15-11:15am.
Fall dates: September 16, September 23, September 30, October 7, October 14, October 21, October 28, November 4, November 18, December 2, and December 9. Concert to be scheduled for the weekend of December 16. No class on November 11 or November 25.
Spring dates: January 20, January 27, February 3, February 10, February 24, March 2, March 9, March 16, March 23, March 30, April 6, April 13, April 27, May 4, and May 11. Concert to be scheduled for the weekend of May 18. Evaluations on June 1. No class on February 17 or April 20.
