Description

This program is a one-week exploration of orchestral music for the following groups of students:

 

  • Beginners who have never played an instrument (1st - 3rd grade)

 

  • Current DCYOP Level A/Continuing Level A Students

 

Orchestra Explorer students will participate in activities including: 

  • Exploring, learning about, and trying instruments from different instrument families 

  • Exploring orchestral music alongside visual arts 

  • Exploring music and movement (dance/yoga) 

  • Screen-free outdoor play 

 

Program Location: Takoma Elementary School (7010 Piney Branch Road NW, Washington, DC 20012)

 

Program Dates: July 27th-July 31th

 

Drop-Off Time: 9:00am

 

Program Hours: 9:30am-3:30pm

Restrictions

Participants must be 5 years to 9 years old when the program starts.
